Day three of the WESG World Finals has come to an end, with Team Russia and Space Soldiers topping their respective groups.
Russia were able to replicate their form from the first group stage and finished at the summit of Group A with 7 points - making light work of both Envy and Recca before splitting maps with MVP PK.
Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer's side cut a frustrating figure as they were unable to beat either MVP PK or Recca, and will go home without even reaching the knockout stages, one year after winning the showpiece event. The South Korean side finished second with one victory and two draws, and continue to impress in Haikou after going 3-0 in the first group stage.
Group B was topped by Space Soldiers, who remain undefeated in the tournament after beating ORDER and Bravado, and drawing with TeamOne. The Brazilian side left it late, but a 2-0 win over the South Africans ensured that they sealed qualification for the playoffs.
